Published by Natalie Roetzel at 9:26 pm under Special Events

Tune in to CBS’s “60 Minutes” this Sunday to learn more about the Innocence Project of Texas’s involvement in James Lee Woodard’s case. Woodard was released from incarceration last Tuesday after serving more than 27 years for a Dallas County murder he has always maintained he did not commit. His case was investigated by IPOT volunteer law student Alexis Hoff, the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, and IPOT attorneys Michelle Moore and Jeff Blackburn. Thank you for all your efforts in the James Lee Woodard case. His final words on the 60 Minutes show should shame all Americans. “A man has to stand for something”, which is more than the Dallas prosecutors can say. This just makes me sick, as if I have been living in an illusion that “justice” is anything that prosecutors know anything about.
